WE ARE......

McKenzie Grace Stallings

That's right...it's a girl! Daniel and I are so excited.

Her profile

Our morning started off with chicken biscuits from Chick-fil-A and a LARGE coke for me. I had to make sure the kiddo was going to be awake for her pictures :)

Yum I love my Coca-Cola

The ultrasound went well. We went through genetic counseling before hand and all so we would know the odds of our baby having a heart defect like mine which turns out to be a 5% chance...sounds good to me. But so far the heart looks great other than a little white or hard spot on the heart. The doctor's said it could be a marker for down syndrome but that about 99% of babies with it are fine. The baby didn't have any other DS markers so we aren't too concerned about it. They drew blood to do the quad screening to have a more accurate assessment of our risk but again I'm not worried about. Our baby is just how God created her to be. The heart was at 150 beats per minute which is really good, the head and the brain looked really cool as well as her spine and ribs. She has all 10 fingers and all 10 toes and is weighing in at 7oz this week. It was funny because she wasn't modest by any means. She had her legs spread wide open so we could see. The Tech was quiet for a minute and asked if we had any guesses and Daniel and I were both like "it's a girl!" Which we were right. Daniel's remark was "she better learn to keep those legs shut" LOL. She wouldn't show us her face, just her profile. She had her hand over her eye on the other side and was as stubborn as she could be about not showing us her face! They moved me up, down, side to side, and patted my stomach and she still wouldn't budge. Mmmmm I guess she gets that from both of us :)

Her heartbeat

On another note, we also saw Dr. Decker today and according to my bloodwork says my electrolytes are a little low which could be why I was passing out and not feeling so hot. She has told me to eat a lot of salty foods and drink some gatorade. She was laughing because she said you will hardly ever hear a Dr. give an order for someone to eat fried, salty foods LOL. I'm special what can I say. But I guess my body knew that's what it was needing because I have been craving salt here lately which would explain it. I gained a 1 1/2 lbs this week for a total of 7 1/2. I'm supposed to be gaining more so I guess I better get on it :) Oh and she's been moving like CRAZY the past two days. Just going to town in there...she likes her morning coke just like her mommy :) Daniel was able to feel her kick last night for the first time and his reaction was priceless! It's so weird now that I can actually feel her moving but wonderful all at the same time.

Me waiting in the Dr's Office

All in all we are ecstatic! And going shopping tonight of course (hehe).
