Getting Ready for Baby

This past week was spent doing some of those "last minute" things before McKenzie comes. I cleaned out the car and put the car seat in the backseat (scary seeing it in there all the time), organized the closet, finished packing my hospital bag with everything, worked on the birth plan, etc. I also went and got my haircut so that I could have an easy maintenance do since I will have little time to fix my hair. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not but it is growing on me. I think I was just so used to my long hair...but now having gotten up to get ready to go and it only takes me 10 minutes or less to do my hair - yup good choice!

Daniel graduated from Recruiting School on Friday! I'm so proud of him. Mom and I made him lasagna for a celebration dinner Friday night. Then Daniel and I went out on a "date night" Saturday since it is winding down to the last few before McKenzie is here. Then we spent the evening shopping in Babies R Us picking up those last minute things.
It's really sad when people STARE at you now when you are in public. Ok... YES I KNOW I walk funny (waddle to be more exact), YES I KNOW I look like I'm about to pop, YES I KNOW I look somewhat miserable, and YES I KNOW I take like 50 bazillion trips to the bathroom - I can't help that my daughter sits on my bladder! Here's my little soap box for the week: I never thought I'd be one of those pregnant ladies who was just absolutely miserable at the end of pregnancy...but I AM. I have reached that point...I go from a lot of energy to ZERO in 60 seconds flat, my back hurts all the time, braxton hicks are becoming more intense, McKenzie is constantly in my ribs causing the skin to stretch and burn and I lose complete feeling and I should just put a pillow and blanket in the bathroom considering most of my day is spent in there. I never knew one could have so much pelvic pressure where you feel as if your hips are going to completely dislodge. I'll stop complaining...I'm truly blessed! I'm anxious and excited about McKenzie's arrival and can't wait to hold her in my arms!
Daniel is home for Thanksgiving this week and then he heads back to Ft. Stewart on Monday to finish clearing. (Meaning he has to turn in all sorts of stuff and finalize paperwork saying he is no longer a soldier at Ft. Stewart but is now a soldier of the Atlanta Recruiting Battalion). We are praying that they will give him a little more than 30 days leave so he can come home as soon as possible since McKenzie is hopefully coming soon. We are still praying for a renter for our house in Savannah but are trusting God during this time of "waiting." We are so THANKFUL and BLESSED to have family who help us so much and give so much of themselves. We love all of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm going to be eating my fill of all foods Thanksgiving :)
