McKenzie's Ladybug
There's a pretty interesting story that goes along with the ladybug and I'm going to share it with you.
Last summer when we were on vacation in Florida Daniel and I went shopping down the historic strip in New Smyrna Beach. We came across a children's store and decided to go in. We didn't know yet if we were having a boy or girl and were having fun looking at all sorts of stuff. Daniel came across a sea turtle and brought it to my attention. The sea turtle's shell displayed lights on the wall when turned on. We thought it was the coolest thing! The man who owned the shop told us that they made a ladybug and puppy dog as well. We left enamored with the thing thinking it was so neat that it displayed different constellations on the walls. Then back in October, Daniel and I were returning some things in the mall and were in Dillards. We were glancing through the baby section when Daniel again ran across the sea turtle. This time they had the ladybug as well. We quickly made the purchase and were so thrilled. Little did we know that it would become McKenzie's FAVORITE thing. Her little ladybug that displays the moon and stars on the wall in 3 different colors is her constant diaper room accessory. It sits on her changing table so she can watch while we change her diaper. She stays so still and calm enamored with the lights - red is her favorite.
That's the story of the ladybug. I'm sure it will stick around for quite a while! The fun part-when she's old enough we can look up the different constellations and find them on the wall :)
