An Afternoon with Daddy

Yesterday (Tuesday) Daniel got off early - around 4ish. McKenzie has learned when Daddy comes home and she is generally fussy until he walks through the doors and picks her up and carries her around for the rest of the night. She and Daddy walk around looking out windows, play peek a boo, do arobics, play with the dogs and take naps. It was such a nice surprise that he was able to come home early and she was very much excited. Since it was so nice outside we went out to play in the backyard and look at the trees and flowers. McKenzie is not a fan of the bright sun so I've been putting a hat on her head when I take her outside. It's still a little bit big for now but she was just so darn cute in her hat. My little girl is developing a personality ALL her own. She has so many faces and each one is so special.

McKenzie and I also got to visit with a dear friend yesterday. Jasmine came to visit with Liliana(2) and LJ(5 months) and it was so nice getting caught up. Jasmine and her husband Josh are stationed at Camp Lejuene, NC. Josh just returned home from a 7 month tour to Iraq. Just a side note but I worked with Josh at Chick-fil-A and Jasmine and I were friends in High School. I loved being able to talk Mommyhood with her. We walked down to the playground in the neighborhood and let Lily swing. I even swung a little myself while McKenzie and LJ napped in the strollers.

In other news...I had my excision today at the Dermatologist. I'd been dreading it all week but I survived LOL. I pushed it off a month to make sure I had enough milk stored up for McKenzie since I have to "pump and dump" as the doc said. It took about 10 minutes for them to do the surgery. They numbed me up pretty well even though I could feel them stretching me like crazy to pull the skin tight. The worst part about having the spot removed is that it's right on my stomach by my belly button. I told the doctor that I was good as long as I didn't feel anything which once I thought about that statement I kind of laughed at myself. I'm thinking I went through childbirth and I'm worried about the pain from having a mole removed hee hee. Thankfully he only had to put in internal stitches so I don't have to have any removed...they'll dissolve on their own making the maintenance and care a lot easier. I did pretty well for a few hours but the numbness wore off and as suspected I'm getting quite sore. I'm just keeping ice on it to help the swelling and bruising. At least it's done and I can mark it off of my list :) McKenzie just isn't too happy about getting a bottle at every meal despite the fact that it's Mommy's milk...she wants Mommy. It makes me feel pretty good :) but it's hard watching her fuss and I can't do anything about it :( The good news is it is only for 24 hours.

It sounds like Daniel is really enjoying her, which is so sweet. Good luck with the 24 hours sans feedings.
